Troops Dismantle Terrorist Logistics Network in Kogi |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lokoja, within the last three months, have cracked down on terrorists, dismantling their logistics supply networks within the operational zone in Kogi State.

A statement by the
Acting Assistant, Director, Army Public Relations,12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lieutenant, Hassan Abdullahi says, in one of the operations along Jamata–Owara in Lokoja Local Government Area, the troops intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics courier riding a motorcycle.

The Army explains that, the troops also carried out an intensive search on the motorcycle which revealed it had been specially modified with a concealed compartment for the covert conveyance of ammunition, in addition to other items.

The statement further reveals that, preliminary findings established links between the suspect and known terrorists.

Lieutenant Abdullahi maintains that troops of the Brigade, further recorded another operational success by intercepting two suspected terrorists’ logistics couriers with large cache of ammunition.

The Statement, says the operation which was conducted on the 20 April 2026, followed credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists logistics elements within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility.

Acting on the report, troops deployed at Oshokoshoko mounted a snap checkpoint along Obajana–Kabba road in Lokoja Local Government Area.

According to 12 Brigade Army Spokeperson, the troops intercepted a Toyota bus conveying the suspects en route to Obajana from Makurdi.

A thorough search of the vehicle led to the arrest of two suspected terrorist logistics couriers identified as Mallam Zubairu Abubakar and Adamu Abubakar Abdullahi.

The 12 Brigade Army information officer, added that the interrogation resulted in the recovery of a sack containing 314 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and three AK-47 rifle magazines concealed behind the driver’s seat.

Lieutenant Abdullahi says, the suspects and the recovered items have been handed over to the Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation and necessary action.
