Yayi Visits Iyabo Obasanjo Bello, Pledges Inclusive Leadership |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to former senator Iyabo Obasanjo Bello at her residence in Abeokuta, in what observers describe as a strategic move to reinforce party unity ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Obasanjo Bello, who previously contested for the party’s governorship ticket, had earlier congratulated Adeola following his emergence as the APC’s consensus candidate, publicly declaring her support for his candidacy.

The meeting, attended by political associates and supporters, was formally opened by former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Salmot Badru, who commended Obasanjo Bello for her contributions to governance and public service.

Speaking during the visit, Adeola described the meeting as a show of appreciation rather than reconciliation, noting that Obasanjo Bello had been among the first to support his emergence.

He praised her tenure as senator representing Ogun Central, highlighting her legislative record as widely recognized and respected.

Adeola also assured party members of an inclusive leadership style, pledging that all stakeholders would be actively involved in both his campaign and governance.

“I am here to thank my sister and to assure her that we will work together. I am ready to align with her vision and ensure that, collectively, we take Ogun State to the next level,” he said.

He further emphasized that her ideas and policy contributions would be incorporated into his agenda, adding that no group or individual would be excluded.

The visit concluded with both leaders expressing commitment to unity and collaboration, as Adeola reaffirmed his resolve to maintain broad engagement with party stakeholders across Ogun State.
