Saudi Arabia has closed the data registration window for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, prompting Nigeria’s Hajj authorities to request more time to complete the process for intending pilgrims.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) said the closure was announced by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, affecting countries still uploading pilgrims’ details onto the official Nusuk Masar platform.
NAHCON said it had formally appealed to Saudi authorities for an extension, to allow Nigerian officials to complete the registration of pilgrims who have not yet been captured in the system.
The commission said it remained hopeful that the request would be granted and promised to provide updates as soon as a response is received.
In the meantime, NAHCON warned intending pilgrims not to make payments to individuals, groups or agencies, stressing that the payment window for the 2026 Hajj has been closed.
It urged members of the public to rely only on its official communication channels for verified information.
The commission also thanked stakeholders for their understanding and said it was working closely with Saudi authorities to ensure a smooth pilgrimage for Nigerian pilgrims.
