The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a renowned medical practitioner and founder of Onward Hospital, Dr. Aremu Olaosebikan.
In a heartfelt tribute, the monarch revealed that he had visited the late physician at his residence in Osogbo just days before his passing, describing the moment as unknowingly their last meeting.
Oluwo described Dr. Olaosebikan as a “monumental asset to humanity,” noting that his contributions to healthcare and society earned him recognition both within Nigeria and internationally. He added that the outpouring of prayers and goodwill during the doctor’s lifetime reflected the profound impact he had on countless lives.
According to the monarch, the deceased lived an exemplary life dedicated to service, inspiring others to make meaningful contributions to society. “He came, saw, and conquered. He was a hero,” Oluwo stated.
The royal father lamented that the ancient town of Iwo has lost a rare gem, emphasizing that the late doctor, who held the traditional title of Mosinola of Iwoland, would be remembered for his enduring legacy. He stressed that Dr. Olaosebikan’s influence would continue through the many lives he touched.
The Oluwo also highlighted the achievements of the deceased’s children, describing them as worthy successors who have built upon their father’s legacy, thereby establishing a strong generational foundation for the family.
He offered prayers for the repose of the late doctor’s soul, asking God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
The monarch concluded that the people of Iwo, the Onward medical community, and Nigeria at large will continue to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Aremu Olaosebikan.
