Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced plans to host the third edition of “Invest in Lagos” in June, signalling the administration’s renewed push to attract multinational investors and deepen economic partnerships with the Commonwealth.
The announcement came on Monday during the opening session of the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit in London, where Sanwo-Olu emphasised Africa’s strategic role in the Commonwealth’s future and the continent’s critical position in global economic affairs.
Speaking on Lagos’s development trajectory, the governor highlighted major infrastructure milestones achieved since his re-election in 2023. These include the operational launch of the Lagos metro rail system comprising the Blue and Red Lines and the near-completion of one of Africa’s largest children’s hospitals.
“Our administration remains committed to improving the quality of life for Lagos’s over 24 million residents,” Sanwo-Olu said, underscoring ongoing efforts to enhance public services and economic competitiveness.
The governor announced sweeping reforms to digitalise the state’s land administration and revenue systems, measures he said would streamline business registration, reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, and strengthen fiscal transparency.
“Invest in Lagos 3.0” will be organised in partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council and positioned as a platform for facilitating concrete business transactions and presenting bankable investment opportunities.
“Lagos is ready to work with partners who bring technology, expertise, and a long-term vision,” Sanwo-Olu said, reaffirming the state’s commitment to sustainable growth and strategic partnerships.
