The ruling All Progressives Congress has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the dates for its 2027 primary elections have been altered, insisting that the timetable earlier released by the party remains valid.
In a press statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the reports as false and misleading.
According to the statement, the scheduled dates for the primaries ahead of the 2027 General Elections are unchanged.
The party said the House of Representatives primaries will hold on Friday, May 15, 2026, while the Senate primaries are scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.
It also stated that the State House of Assembly primaries will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, followed by the Governorship primaries on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
The Presidential primary election, according to the party, will be conducted on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The APC urged members of the public and party faithful to disregard unverified reports suggesting changes to the election timetable.
