The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a major breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of Bishop Chinedu Clarence James, with the recovery of his stolen Toyota Land Cruiser and the arrest of two suspects linked to the crime.
The breakthrough followed an intelligence-led operation by the Anambra State Police Command after security operatives received credible information that the stolen vehicle was being transported to Onitsha for sale.
Acting on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, operatives tracked and intercepted the suspects during the coordinated operation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the suspects allegedly contacted his cousin in Onitsha to help secure a buyer for the vehicle after the bishop was abducted and killed in Delta State on May 12.
Police operatives arrested the suspects at the point of sale, while the Toyota Land Cruiser was recovered as critical evidence in the ongoing investigation.
The Police further disclosed that investigations have intensified to dismantle the entire syndicate behind the kidnapping, murder, and attempted sale of the stolen vehicle.
