The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, on Wednesday donated 60 bulletproof vests, 60 ballistic helmets, and a refurbished power bike to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) to strengthen security operations and improve personnel safety in Lagos State.
The security equipment was presented to the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, CSP Shola Jejeloye, at the squad’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ogunsan said the donation reflects the LSSTF’s continued commitment to supporting security agencies in the state with operational tools and logistics needed to enhance public safety and improve crime-fighting efficiency.
He noted that the provision of the protective gear formed part of ongoing efforts by the trust fund to ensure that security operatives are adequately equipped to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
Receiving the items on behalf of the squad, Jejeloye commended the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for what he described as timely intervention and consistent support for security agencies in Lagos State.
According to him, the bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets would boost the confidence, safety, and operational readiness of officers while responding to emergencies and combating criminal activities across the state.
“We are deeply grateful to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for this generous support and for consistently standing with security agencies in Lagos State. These ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests will go a long way in enhancing the safety and operational readiness of our officers in the discharge of their duties,” Jejeloye said.
