A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo, has distanced himself from a purported list said to be connected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election and currently circulating online.
In a statement released on Monday through his political platform, the Turning Point Agenda, the lawmaker described the publication as unofficial and urged party members and supporters to disregard it.
Ogunleye said the attention of residents and APC faithful in Ikorodu Constituency I had been drawn to the list, which he maintained did not emanate from authorised party channels.
He advised party leaders, members and supporters to await official communication from the appropriate APC authorities rather than rely on unverified information circulating on social media and other platforms.
The lawmaker further called for calm, unity and patience among party faithful, stressing the importance of due process and adherence to the party’s established procedures.
“We urge everyone to remain calm, united and resolute as true progressives committed to due process and the integrity of our great party,” the statement read.
Ogunleye reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the APC and urged supporters to remain focused on the party’s collective goals while awaiting official information regarding the primary election process.
The development comes amid heightened political activities ahead of the party’s primary elections across Lagos State.
