Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appointed the governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, as Renewed Hope Ambassador and deputy director-general for party outreach, engagement and mobilisation.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday.
Tinubu, who is the leader of the All Progressives Congress, said Governor Sani was selected in recognition of his leadership and organisational abilities.
In his new role, Mr Sani is expected to work closely with the Renewed Hope Ambassador director-general and the party leadership, including the APC national chairman, to strengthen coordination and engagement across party structures.
His responsibilities will also include promoting the party’s policies, programmes and achievements, as part of efforts to build public confidence and expand support nationwide.
In a letter announcing the appointment, President Tinubu said the move was aimed at ensuring citizens were aware of and supported the party and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
“The overall objective of your appointment is to ensure that the entire citizenry is aware of, understands, and ultimately supports our party and its candidates at all levels for broad national acceptance in the 2027 election,” the letter said.
The president added that preparation and effective leadership would be essential in achieving the party’s political goals in the coming years.
