Lagos Govt Shuts Down Hotel Padelia, Huawei Tech Company, Others |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed multiple business premises across Lagos, including Hotel Padelia and the Lagos office of Chinese technology giant Huawei, over persistent environmental violations.

The enforcement exercise, carried out on Wednesday, targeted establishments spread across Abiodun Street in Somolu, Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road, Osolo Way, Ajao Estate, Isolo Industrial Scheme, Ire Akari Estate, Oke Afa, Jakande Estate, and the Oshodi/Apapa Expressway corridor.

Among the sealed premises are Citadel Prayer and Testimony Ministry, Emperor Superstore, Hotel Padelia, EED Hotel & Suites, Huawei Technology Company, The Starview Terrace Hotel, Emerey Hotel, Cameo Suite, Easterline Ace Bar, Alpacino Hotel, Fish Logistics, and Mac Dec — a sweep that cut across religious centres, hospitality outfits, retail outlets, and logistics firms.

LASEPA said the affected facilities were found to be in breach of environmental standards, including regulations on noise and air pollution, as well as other operational requirements.

Speaking on the exercise, the agency’s General Manager, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, said the crackdown followed repeated warnings and compliance checks that the businesses failed to act upon.

“Unchecked noise pollution carries serious implications for public health and safety,” Ajayi warned, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for Lagos residents.

He called on business owners across the state to obtain the requisite environmental permits, adopt effective noise control measures, and comply fully with applicable environmental laws to avoid sanctions.
