The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the campaign organisation of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed claims by the rival AMBO campaign group concerning Osun State’s financial management as baseless and politically motivated.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., on Tuesday, TICC cited an independent assessment by civic organisation BudgIT as evidence that the Adeleke administration’s fiscal record speaks for itself.
According to the statement, Osun State achieved a 100 per cent fiscal transparency score in BudgIT’s Q3 2025 report, placing it among the top-ranked states in Nigeria on public finance accountability.
“This is not a political assertion but an independent validation grounded in data and objective analysis,” the statement read.
BudgIT, a non-partisan civic organisation that tracks public finance and governance performance across Nigeria, is widely regarded by policymakers and development partners as a credible reference point for evaluating state-level accountability.
TICC attributed the ranking to what it described as deliberate reforms under Governor Adeleke, including efforts to clear inherited pension obligations, improve workers’ welfare, expand social intervention programmes among them free healthcare for pensioners and drive visible infrastructure development across the state.
The council further challenged the opposition to reckon with its own governance record, accusing unnamed political actors of circulating misleading financial figures in the face of what it called verifiable progress.
“Propaganda may offer temporary comfort, but it cannot substitute for credibility, nor can it erase measurable achievements,” the statement added.
The AMBO campaign organisation had not issued a public response to the counter-statement as of press time.
