APC Bars State-Level Announcement of Primary Election Results |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed all National Assembly Primary Election Committees to refrain from conducting media briefings or announcing results in their respective states during the party’s ongoing primaries.

The directive was contained in a memo signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, who stated that all official announcements and final declarations of results would be made exclusively at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

According to the party, the measure was introduced to avoid conflicting results and ensure proper coordination of the shadow elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Argungu explained that results from the primaries would pass through ward, local government, and constituency collation centres before being forwarded to the national headquarters for final processing and announcement.

The APC also warned committee officials against addressing the media in their various states of assignment.

“Any official briefing, where necessary, shall be conducted exclusively in Abuja after the submission of all results,” the memo stated.

The development is seen as part of efforts by the ruling party to strengthen internal coordination and maintain uniformity in the management of its primary election process nationwide.
