A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Oyetola, has officially withdrawn from the race for the Osun Central Senatorial seat ahead of the party’s primary election.
In a withdrawal letter dated May 18, 2026, and addressed to the Osun APC Chairman, Oyetola said his decision followed extensive consultations and the intervention of party leaders in the interest of unity and stability within the party.
The youth leader and public servant appreciated supporters and stakeholders across Osun Central who purchased the nomination form on his behalf, describing their support as one of the greatest honours of his political journey.
According to him, the decision to step down was not taken lightly, but became necessary to protect the collective interest and electoral success of the APC.
Oyetola also urged his supporters and political associates to remain calm, united, and loyal to the party leadership, stressing that personal ambition should never override party cohesion.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and pledged to continue working for the growth of the party and the success of its candidates in future elections.
