Kidnapped Woman Rescued in Edo Forest Operation |LAGOS EYE NEWS



The Edo State Police Command, in collaboration with local security outfits, has rescued a 57-year-old woman, Mrs. Vivian George, who was abducted in Igbanke, Edo State.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists.

According to the statement, the victim was kidnapped on Saturday while heading to the farm with her son, Chinedu, who managed to escape from the attackers and alerted the authorities.

The PPRO explained that following the report, police operatives swiftly mobilised detectives alongside members of the Edo State Security Corps and local hunters into the forest in search of the abductors.

She noted that the security team engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel, forcing them to flee and abandon the victim.

Mrs. George was rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with her family.

Reacting to the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Monday Agbonika, commended the bravery and prompt response of the operatives and local security teams whose collaborative efforts led to the rescue.
