The political atmosphere in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency intensified over the weekend as Hon. Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul continued his ward-to-ward engagement tour with a visit to Ward A, drawing a large crowd of party members, supporters, and community groups.
Ward A, which is the political base of the Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Olalekan Olu Akindipe, was transformed into a highly energised gathering as supporters turned out in large numbers to receive the federal lawmaker ahead of the upcoming party primaries.
The event recorded participation from party leaders, youth groups, market associations, and women’s organizations, with supporters openly expressing backing for Kalejaiye’s return to the House of Representatives.
The gathering was marked by repeated chants of “Kalejaiye Lekan’ Si,” reflecting calls for continuity in representation.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Akindipe declared support for the lawmaker’s reelection bid, describing his performance at the National Assembly as impactful and visible within the constituency.
He stated that effective leadership should be measured by accessibility and consistent engagement with constituents, adding that the turnout in Ward A reflected genuine grassroots approval rather than political mobilization.
“The people have seen capacity and purposeful representation. What we are witnessing is a result of sustained engagement and delivery,” Akindipe said.
He further noted that continuity in representation was important for sustaining ongoing development efforts within the constituency.
The event concluded with renewed calls from supporters for continuity in leadership as preparations for the party primaries continue.
