Yoweri Museveni Takes Oath Of Office For Renewed 5-Year Tenure After 40 Years In Office |LAGOS EYE NEWS



President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda, on Tuesday, took the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office, administered by Chief Justice Dr Flavian Zeija, at Kololo Ceremonial Ground for renewed 5 years tenure – 2026 – 2031.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been in office since 1986.

He was a military officer, and came to power through the coup, and thereafter, transmuted into the civilian president.

While taking the oath of office, Museveni has promised to uphold, preserve and defend the constitution of Uganda and observe the laws of the land as stipulated in the constitution.

“I shall faithfully exercise the functions of the President of Uganda and shall uphold, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and observe the laws of Uganda and promote the welfare of the people of Uganda,” Museveni said.
