Hon. Lukman Olumoh has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency 01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly election, following his victory at the party’s primary election held on Wednesday.
Olumoh, who contested as the consensus candidate, secured 16,552 votes to clinch the APC ticket, further strengthening his position among party faithful and stakeholders in the constituency.
LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that former council chairman, Ajidagba Ajifat, formally stepped down from the APC House of Assembly primary race in favour of Olumoh after what party sources described as high-level consultations and interventions by APC leaders within the constituency.
The development came amid growing political tension and concerns over possible violence in the area, prompting party stakeholders to intervene in order to maintain peace ahead of the primaries.
Olumoh’s emergence credited to his record of constituency project execution, empowerment programmes, and sustained grassroots engagement since assuming office as the lawmaker representing the constituency.
Party supporters described the outcome as a vote of confidence in his legislative performance, praising his emergence as recognition of his service and responsive representation.
With the primary concluded, Olumoh will now fly the APC flag in the forthcoming Lagos State House of Assembly election, where he is expected to seek a fresh mandate to continue ongoing developmental initiatives in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency 01.
