Gunmen have abducted Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC gubernatorial aspirant, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday while Mrs. John-Paul was reportedly taking her children to school.
The abduction was confirmed in a statement issued by Comrade Femi Awogboro, Media Aide to Chief Adelabu.
According to the statement, Mrs. John-Paul, 43, is the youngest of five children of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke Adelabu.
She previously worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and First Bank Pension Custodian before relocating to Ibadan last year.
The statement further disclosed that she had been making arrangements to join her husband in the United States before the unfortunate incident occurred.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies had yet to release an official statement on the kidnapping, while efforts were reportedly ongoing to secure the safe release of the victims.
