Reps Approves N2.28Trn FCT 2026 Budget |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The House of Representatives has approved the sum of N2.28 trillion 2026 budget for the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA.

The approval followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the House Committee on FCT and Area Councils at the Committee of Supply.

Of the amount approved, N1.74 trillion is earmarked for capital projects, while N165 billion is for personnel cost and N378 billion for overhead.

The House also passed the 2026 budget of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, put at N1.75 trillion.

Outside the chamber, former Delta lawmaker, Ossai Nicholas Ossai, described direct primary as the most democratic process for political parties, saying it encourages wider participation by party members.

The former lawmaker, who declared his intention to return to the House under the APC, also defended the role of money in politics and said his ambition is aimed at attracting development projects and improving infrastructure in his constituency.
