Residents of Ogudu land have been thrown into mourning following the death of the revered traditional ruler, Oba Nojeemdeen Fashola.
Palace sources disclosed that the first-class monarch passed away peacefully in the early hours of yesterday at his residence in Ogudu.
While the exact cause of death has not been officially announced, the palace stated that the monarch “departed this world peacefully.”
The sad development has cast a shadow over the ancient community in Kosofe Local Government Area, with residents, chiefs, and sympathisers paying glowing tributes to the late monarch, who was widely respected for his humility, wisdom, and dedication to community development.
As part of traditional mourning rites, several social and commercial activities within the community, including market operations, were reduced in honour of the late king.
Oba Fashola, who ascended the throne four years ago, was regarded as a strong symbol of peace, unity, and cultural preservation in Ogudu land.
Throughout his reign, he was admired for his calm nature, accessibility, and commitment to the welfare and progress of his people.
